This rare video gives you the full Satan & Adam immersion experience. Shot by documentary filmmaker Patrick Creadon on July 12, 1992, it shows Sterling "Mr. Satan" Magee (guitar, percussion, vocals) and Adam Gussow (harmonica) playing a special event for a partying crowd at the Democratic National Convention--outdoors, at night, with their backs to the Bethesda Terrace in the middle of NYC's Central Park.
The duo performs their version of Bobbie Gentry's "Ode to Billie Joe," followed by a brief clip of "Read My Lips," a Sterling Magee original.
This is the ONLY extant video on YouTube where Magee and Gussow play at full length on the all-solid-state, Mouse-powered amping setup they used for five years (1986-1991) on 125th St. in Harlem. This gives Magee's guitar a snarling overdrive that meshes beautifully with his incendiary fretboard work. His DIY foot percussion rig consists of a pair of hi-hat cymbals strapped down to a homemade wooden sounding-board, topped with tambourines and yellow plastic maracas.
