This convertible doesn't share a single engine, drive train, suspension, steering, brake system, or fuel system component with an original '67 Mustang. Every piece of the car is brand new and can be expected to perform as such. This car isn't just a body kit and a pretty coat of paint like so many modified '67 Mustangs out there - it's got the engineering under the skin to back up the looks. It also doesn't follow the fad of "modernizing" the looks of the '67 Shelby. The original G.T. 500 had such timeless and beautiful lines that I just couldn't see deviating from them only to end up with a car that will look dated in 10 years. When you look at your car a decade from now, will you want to see something that harkens back to the muscle car scene in 1967 or to a movie remake from the year 2000?
The "donor car" for this project was a cherry, rust free, accident free west coast car. There wasn't a speck of rust damage anywhere on the car, and it retains all of its factory original sheet metal, floor pans, frame rails, etc.
